I am based in Austin, Texas and currently working as a multimedia consultant/studio assistant at Whole Foods Market, Inc. and as the visual media coordinator for the U.S. Latino & Latina World War II Oral History Project.

In December 2007 I completed my Master’s Degree in Photojournalism at the University of Texas at Austin. As a graduate student I completed internships with the Santiago Times in Santiago, Chile and El Sentinel/The South Florida Sun-Sentinel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. My thesis project was a documentary video about a ranching community in central Texas.

Prior to graduate school I served as a small business volunteer in Peace Corps Nicaragua. My primary assignment was to work with an organization managing the Cerro Musún Nature Reserve located in central Nicaragua. I spent two years teaching environmental education, building trails, teaching art class to local children, learning about another culture, and exploring the jungle.

I am a native of Denver, Colorado and graduated from Marquette University with a degree in marketing and advertising. I began my marketing career in Denver and later moved to the Bay Area, where I worked for several companies, including Fluid, Inc. (an interactive design firm), Mattel Interactive, and Sega Entertainment.

When I am not making pictures, I am usually spending time outside—most likely running or cycling.
